Thanks for being here!

This is a blog highlighting unique travel, amazing people, & food so good you might cry.

As for me, I’m an Asian American (Filipina), occasionally hipster, joyfully awkward, foodie. I talk about food the way people talk about sports =)

I love giving food recs to friends & have been dreaming of posting them online.

I’ve been sitting on this domain for years, tasteofmytears.com, and finally got enough courage to start this blog! Thank you to my hubs Anthony for all your encouragement, and Crystal and Nick for the most ultimate nudge, designing this website =)

One of the first times food made me cry was in Paris.

I just got out of a long relationship and booked a solo trip to Europe. For some reason, I thought it was a good idea to use my coworker’s honeymoon itinerary LOL.

During the trip, I found myself sitting alone in this small romantic restaurant in the Marais. I was served the most rich umami bomb of a dish - foie ravioli in a cream sauce. It was so good that I started crying.

I realized I probably looked very ridiculous, crying alone in a candle lit restaurant in Paris bahaha. I told the couples around me that I was OK - it’s just that the food was so good, the salt from my tears were seasoning the food.

There are many moments like these - trying delicious things and connecting with people - that I’d love to share with you.

Hope you enjoy =)
